Motocross (MX) Tracks

Here at Phoenix Creek Motocross and Camping Park we have four purpose-built MX tracks catering for the very beginner through the advanced junior rider, to the Dads (and Mums!) and older siblings on full size motocross/enduro/trail bikes. Read on for some info about the junior and senior MX tracks (please note: there are no trails or enduro loops here).

Junior Tracks Labelled Word Resized

Here at Phoenix Creek we have 4 dedicated Junior MX tracks to suit riders from their first day on training wheels to the advanced 85cc pilot. Any bike less than full-size (e.g. 85cc 2T or 230cc 4T and down) can be ridden on junior tracks, regardless of rider age, however no full-size bikes are allowed on any of these, even if the rider is a "junior".

  • Junior Track #1 – Cisco's Circus
A beginner circuit for peewees and junior riders just starting out. No jumps, berms, rough stuff or fast riders; just for kids to get the hang of the throttle, brakes and steering.
  • Junior Track #2 – Neet Street
The step up from Track #1 for learner riders, a fairly slow track with a handful of low, easy obstacles and gentle berms to help kids progress from the more simple flat tracks to a MX style track.
  • Junior Track #3 – Shapies
A fun intermediate track with a good mix of smaller size tables, step-ups, rollers and berms to suit a large skill range.
  • Junior Track #4 – El Pesto
"A full-size track for kids" – this is quite a large circuit with some challenging medium sized jumps and fast open sections. Proper step-ups, rhythm sections, split lane options and a practice start straight for the intermediate to advanced junior rider.

Senior Track Word Resized

Senior Track - Benneton
The "main track" here at Phoenix Creek occupies about half the total park area and is a full-sized adult MX track. Senior size bikes, which cannot be ridden on the junior tracks, will find their home here; while junior bikes/riders can ride this track if they are competant enough to do so. It is an overall very fast circuit, with a good safe mix of large and medium jumps, rollers, split-lanes, berms and natural terrain sections. Suitable for all riders intermediate and above, and all full-size bike riders except for very beginner adult riders (e.g. still learning clutch, starting etc).

Peewee's and 4T 50cc's are not allowed on this circuit, and neither are very beginner riders on other junior bikes as this could present a safety hazard to themselves and other riders. For parents with kids who aren't up to riding the big track on their own, little kids can be "dinked" on the front of the parent's bike as long as it's done safely and both riders have a complete set of riding gear (see "Important" page for gear minimums).

Please note that management reserves the right to close any or all motocross tracks at any time in the interest of safety, wet weather, or track maintenance.
